Theory Of Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2014 Fiat 500c and 2014 Fiat 500. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The Driver Remote Acceleration Sensor (Satellite) (Left Side Impact Sensor 1) is mounted near the base of the B-pillar. Refer to Sensor - DESCRIPTION . Impact sensors perform their own self test using power supplied by the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) then communicate this status back to the module. The repair of this fault centers on verifying the integrity of the sensor's internal circuitry and software validity.
