Auxiliary Port

WARNING:

On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, disconnecting the 12-volt battery negative cable alone will not power down the 12-volt system. You must perform the 12-volt Power Down procedure before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

  1. Perform the 12-Volt Power Down procedure. Refer to ELECTRIC VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Remove the navigation unit mounting cradle from the auxiliary port on the top of the instrument panel. Refer to NAVIGATION UNIT, REMOVAL  .
  3. Firmly insert the navigation pod remover tool (1) (special tool #10313, Remover, Navigation Pod) into the auxiliary port (2) on the top of the instrument panel.

  4. Firmly push the plunger (1) of the removal tool down until it is fully compressed.
  5. With the plunger held firmly and fully depressed, wrap your fingers under the grips (2) on each side of the removal tool.

  6. Use a slight back and forth wiggling action while pulling the removal tool (1) and the auxiliary port (2) out of the top of the instrument panel.
  7. Release the plunger and disengage the removal tool from the auxiliary port.
  8. Pull the auxiliary port out of the instrument panel far enough to access and disconnect the instrument panel wire harness connector from the auxiliary port.
