Seat Back, Front: Assembly: Assembly

NOTE:

This procedure covers models equipped with the high-back seats and models equipped with the round style head restraint.

NOTE:

Passenger seat shown in the illustration. Driver seat similar.

  1. If necessary, install the air bag onto the seat back cushion. Refer to AIR BAG, SEAT, INSTALLATION .
  2. If necessary, install a new heated seat pad onto the seat back cushion. Refer to PAD, HEATER, INSTALLATION .
  3. Position the seat back cover (1) onto the seat back cushion (3) and attach new hog rings (2).
  4. Install the seat back cover and cushion onto the seat back frame.
    NOTE:

    Vehicles not equipped with the round style head restraint continue to step 8.

  5. Position the seat back cover and cushion (1) onto the seat back frame.
  6. Install the headrest sleeves (2).

  7. Install the head restraint (1) onto the seat back. Press the release tab on the two head restraint sleeves (2 and 3) and push the head restraint straight downward.

  8. Guide the air bag harness (2) in through the opening in the seat cover (1).
  9. Connect the air bag wiring and attach to the seat back frame.
  10. Position the seat cover and cushion (1) fully down onto the seat back frame.

  11. Fasten the lower J-channel on bottom of seat cover.
  12. Secure the zippers (1) on both sides of the seat back cover.
  13. Connect the hook and loop fasteners (2) at the lower corners.

  14. Tuck the seat cushion foam from behind the recliner bezel mounting bracket.
  15. Slide the upper recliner handle (3) through the bottom of the bezel (1).
  16. Install the fastener (2) into the upper seat back recliner bezel (1).
    NOTE:

    Models equipped with the round head restraint proceed to step  23.

  17. Connect the lower headrest J-channel by sliding the upper portion (1) and lower portion (2) together.
  18. Repeat on the upper headrest J-channel.

  19. Insert the rear seat back bezel (2).
  20. From the front of the seat, install the four fasteners (1) that mount the rear bezel (2) to the seat back frame and tighten.

  21. Insert the front headrest bezel (1) into the seat cover (2).
  22. Align the front headrest bezel (1) to the rear portion and apply pressure to engage clips.

  23. On models so equipped, with the armrest (1) placed in the full up position, firmly squeeze seat material inward far enough to expose the circlip (2) mounting slot.
  24. Insert circlip into the slot.
  25. Install the seat back frame, cushion and cover

    Refer to SEAT BACK, FRONT, INSTALLATION .
