With Manual Transmission

  1. Remove the engine and transmission from the vehicle. Refer to REMOVAL  .

  2. Remove the starter assembly (5). Refer to STARTER, REMOVAL .

  3. Remove the two bolts (1) from the flywheel dust cover.

  4. Remove the lower transmission bell housing bolts (3) and nut (1).

    NOTE:

    The flywheel dust cover is bolted to the oil pan and cannot be removed at this time.

  5. Position a transmission jack under the transmission. Secure the transmission to the jack.
  6. Remove the upper bell housing bolts (1) and separate the transmission from the engine.

  7. Remove the clutch pressure plate and disc. Refer to DISC, CLUTCH, REMOVAL .

  8. Remove the flywheel. Refer to FLYWHEEL, REMOVAL .

  9. Remove the bolt (1) and the flywheel dust cover (2).

  10. Drain the engine oil. Refer to OIL - STANDARD PROCEDURE  .
  11. Remove the viscosity sensor (2). Refer to SENSOR, OIL VISCOSITY, REMOVAL .

  12. Remove two bolts (2) and the blocker plate (1) from the oil pan.

  13. Remove fourteen bolts (1), two nuts and two studs (2) from the flange of the oil pan.
  14. Using the four indicated pry points, carefully remove the oil pan and flywheel dust cover.

  15. Remove the six seal retainer attaching screws (1).
  16. Remove and discard the seal retainer (2).

  17. Remove all residual sealant (1) from the oil pan, engine block and oil pump. Refer to PAN, OIL - CLEANING  .
