Diagnostic Test

CHECK IF THE DTC IS ACTIVE

Ignition ON, do not crank.
With the scan tool, record the Environmental Data for this DTC.
Clear the DTC.
Ignition OFF for 30 seconds, Turn Ignition to ON position, Vehicle not in Ready Mode, Vehicle Gear Selector Module (GSM) in Park.

With the scan tool check for active DTCs.

Did the DTC reset?

Yes

Go To 2

Perform the following Standard Procedures. If no defects are found in the 3 Phase Wire Harness or the e-Motor then Check the Environmental Data. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE . If this DTC has occurred 3 or more times. Go To 2. If the DTC has occurred less than three times, clear the fault code memory and no more actions are necessary.

Visual check of 3-Phase Wiring Harness between e-Motor and PIM

Check continuity and short circuit of 3-Phase Wiring Harness

Check electrical resistance between e-Motor phases

POWER INVERTER MODULE
1. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
2. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched or partially broken wires.
3. Look for broken, bent, pushed out or corroded terminals. Verify that there is good pin to terminal contact.
4. Perform any Technical Service Bulletins that may apply.
  Were there any problems found?
  
  Yes
  - Repair as necessary.
  - Perform the EVCU VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  No
  - Replace the Power Inverter Module (PIM) in accordance to the service information. Refer to MODULE, POWER INVERTER (PIM), REMOVAL .
  - Perform the EVCU VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
