This diagnostic checks for the proper response of the gear shift actuator 6th to the Transmission Controller Module (TCM) engage command. The gear shift actuator 6th is controlled by the TCM via the electrovalves PPV1 and PPV2. This diagnostic checks the position sensor 6th output to confirm that the gear shift actuator 6th has moved to the proper position when it is controlled by the TCM and that the gear has been engaged.
