The Park Position Sensor is a Hall Effect position sensor which provides an output signal with Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) at a fixed frequency and duty cycle proportional to the position of the parking pawl. PWM duty cycle ranges between 10% and 90%. The TCM analyzes the output signal of the sensor in terms of period, amplitude and duty cycle relative to expected normal operation. When the signal is out of range the diagnostic will be considered failing.
