Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK IF THE DTC IS CURRENT 
    NOTE:

    The Transmission Control Module stores under Environmental Data the transmission operating conditions when the DTC was set. Before erasure of any DTC, record all information pertaining to the DTC, even if there is more than one DTC stored.

    1. With the scan tool, erase the Transmission DTCs.
    2. Using the Environmental Data previously recorded, drive the vehicle and try to duplicate the conditions in which the DTC originally set.
    3. With the scan tool, read the Transmission DTCs.

      Did the DTC P0777 reset?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

      • Check transmission hydraulic operation, transmission mechanical operation, and valve body in accordance with the Service information. Repair as necessary.
      • If no hydraulic or mechanical problems are found, and using the schematics as a guide, check the Transmission Control Module (TCM) terminals and connectors for corrosion, damage, or terminal push out. Pay particular attention to all power and ground circuits. Check for any Service Information Tune-ups or Service Bulletins for possible causes that may apply. If no problems are found, replace and program the Transmission Control Module (TCM) in accordance with the Service Information.
      • Perform the C635 DDCT VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. CHECK THE ENGAGE SOLENOID 2 
    1. Turn the ignition off to the lock position.
    2. Disconnect the TCM C2 harness connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the Engage Solenoid 2 on the appropriate terminals of the TCM C2 harness connector.

      Is the resistance between 2.9 and 3.5 Ohms?

      Yes 

      • Using the schematics as a guide, check the Transmission Control Module (TCM) terminals and connectors for corrosion, damage, or terminal push out. Pay particular attention to all power and ground circuits. Check for any Service Information Tune-ups or Service Bulletins for possible causes that may apply. If no problems are found, replace and program the Transmission Control Module (TCM) in accordance with the Service Information.
      • Perform the C635 DDCT VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

      No 

      • Inspect the harness for an open or short to ground. If no open or short to ground is found, replace the Engage Solenoid 2 in accordance with the Service Information.
      • Perform the C635 DDCT VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
