DECKLID, Convertible: Removal: Removal

Open the decklid.
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Using a china marker/grease pen or equivalent, mark the areas where the decklid hinge (3) mounts to the vehicle for use in re-installation.
Remove the eight fasteners (1) securing the decklid trim panel (2)
Position the decklid trim (2) away from the decklid and push the emergency latch release handle (4) through the trim panel.
Remove the decklid trim panel (2).
Disconnect the decklid latch wire harness at the latch.
Remove the grommet and pull the decklid harness (5) out.

Remove the decklid support cylinder.
Remove the fasteners (3) attaching the liftgate hinge (2) to the vehicle. Repeat on the opposite side.
With the help of an assistant, remove the liftgate (1) from the vehicle.
