Remove the folding top cover (1) and place on a clean dry surface. Refer to COVER, CONVERTIBLE, REMOVAL or COVER, HEADER, REMOVAL .

Remove the folding top drive cable (1). Refer to CABLE, REMOVAL .

Remove the prop block (1) and set the side rail (2) down onto the frame.
Drill out the next two rivets on the interior.
NOTE:
Note the location of the two rivets utilizing spacers. Recover the spacers as the rivets are drilled out. The spacers will need to be used in the same locations during installation.

Remove the nut (2) from the side curtain air bag bracket (1) on the interior.

Drill out the two rivets from the behind the folding top slide bracket (2).

With the use of diagonal cutters or equivalent, remove rivet (2) from the exterior rear corner of the folding top side rail (1).
If necessary, drill out any remainder of the rivet.

Carefully slide the folding top side rail (1) upward, releasing it from the tubes (2) and opposite side drive cable.
Remove the folding top side rail (1) from the vehicle.
