Battery Electric Vehicle Telematics

The Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) is equipped with unique telematics capabilities as standard equipment. The BEV Telematics system includes only one major component, which is described in further detail elsewhere within this service information:

• Telematics Control Unit  - A Telematics Control Unit (TCU) (also known as a Vehicle Tracking Module/VTM) is located beneath the instrument panel and above the steering column. The TCU is secured to a mounting bracket that is mounted to both the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) unit housing and the instrument panel support structure. The BEV telematics system cannot be adjusted or repaired. If the TCU is damaged or ineffective, it must be replaced. The TCU software is flash programmable through the Universal Serial Bus (USB) port.
