Accessory Drive Belt Tensioner - Removal





REMOVAL





1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the cooling system.
3. Remove the fan module (2) Cooling Fan - Removal.





4. Remove the right side support bracket (1).





5. Remove the right side inner wheel well liner (2).






CAUTION: Do not let the tensioner arm snap back to the freearm position, severe damage may occur to the tensioner.

6. Rotate the belt tensioner (2) counter clockwise.
7. Remove the belt.

8. Remove the lower radiator hose from the radiator and position aside.




9. Remove the two bolts (4) for the lower transmission mount, from the transmission.

10. Partially lower the vehicle.




11. Position a jack under the engine to support.
12. Remove the three right side engine mount support bolts (1).
13. Slowly lower the engine to were the fasteners for the belt tensioner can be accessed.





14. Remove the bolt (2) that secures the belt tensioner (1) to the engine.
15. Remove the tensioner from the engine.
