NOTE:

NOTE: Sunshade is held in place by rear seatbacks. No fastener removal is required.

  1. Remove the rear window sunshade (1) if equipped. Push down the rear seat release buttons, located at the outboard top of the seatbacks and move the seatbacks to their folded-down position in order to remove the rear window sunshade.

  2. Remove the horseshoe bezel (1) from the rear window package tray (3) by removing the three retaining fasteners (2).

  3. Remove the three retaining clips (2) in order to remove the rear window package tray (1).

  4. Pull back the rear headliner sail panels (1) in order to access the rear upper headliner (2).

  5. Remove the upper headliner (1) from the rear window upper retaining channel.

  6. Loosen the eight retaining fasteners (2) securing the spoiler reinforcement header panel (1).

  7. Apply firm pressure to the exterior soft top fabric (2) at the top edge of the rear window seal (1), in an upward direction toward rear spoiler (3).

  8. Apply firm upward pressure to smooth out any soft top fabric bubbling above rear window (2) by pressing the fabric flat and pushing out away from the center and up toward the sides of the spoiler (3), while at the same time grasping the spoiler (1) with the thumb and index finger and pulling down with slight pressure against the spoiler.

    NOTE:

    Help of an assistant is required for the following step.

  9. Have an assistant retighten the eight retaining fasteners (2) securing the spoiler reinforcement header panel (1).
  10. Inspect the rear window (exterior) soft top seal for looseness at sides of rear window. Measure distance from rear window to soft top fabric which should be a maximum distance of 14 mm (9/16 in).
  11. Water leak test the vehicle to verify the repair, primarily around the exterior sides of the rear window. Hose test should be a minimum of 5 minutes.
  12. Reverse Step #5 through Step #1 for reassembly.
