Front Disc Brake Pads: Installation

  1. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure front brake caliper-to-steering knuckle sliding surfaces are coated with multipurpose grease before installing front brake caliper. If original front disc brake pads are being installed, ensure pads are installed in original location.
  2. If installing NEW front disc brake pads, ensure piston on front brake caliper is fully retracted into piston bore. Ensure front brake caliper-to-steering knuckle guide pin bolts are not cross-threaded. Tighten all fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Pump brake pedal several times until brake pedal is firm. Road test vehicle and apply brakes several times to seat front disc brake pads.
