Description & Operation
Instrument cluster gauges include: coolant temperature, fuel level, oil pressure, tachometer and turbo boost gauge (if equipped). Fuel level and coolant temperature gauges are internal coil type, oil pressure gauge is a bimetal type, and turbo boost gauge is a moving coil type.
The coolant temperature gauge uses a thermistor-type sending unit, oil pressure gauge uses a bimetal-type sending unit, turbo boost gauge uses a moving coil type sending unit and the fuel gauge uses a variable resistance-type sending unit. Fuel gauge sending unit has an attached thermistor for operation of the low fuel level warning indicator.
Warning indicators receive battery voltage from fuse No. 8 (10-amp) when ignition switch is in RUN or START position. All warning indicators require a ground signal to activate each indicator light. Instrument panel switches include hazard, foglight, panel illumination dimmer rheostat, rear defogger and rear wiper/washer.
