Verification Test VER-1A

CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. DO NOT disconnect scan tool. Connect any disconnected components. Using scan tool, erase DTC's. Display transmission temperature. Start and operate vehicle until transmission temperature is HOT.
  2. Check transaxle level. If TCM, torque converter or transaxle has been replaced, see SHIFT QUALITY QUICK-LEARN PROCEDURE  . Road test vehicle. Using scan tool, read RPM display. Perform 15-20 upshifts (1-2, 2-3 and 3-4). Road test vehicle from standing start to 45 MPH with throttle opening of 20-25 degrees.
  3. Once vehicle speed is below 25 MPH, perform 5-8 forced downshifts to 1st gear. Allow 5 seconds between forced shifts. Using scan tool, read DTC's. If any codes are present, go to TEST 2A  . If no codes are present, but transaxle does not operate correctly, go to TEST 37A  . If no codes are present and transaxle operates correctly, testing is complete.
