Passenger Air Bag Module: Removal

  1. Before proceeding, follow air bag service precautions. See SERVICE PRECAUTIONS. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect negative battery cable. Shield cable end. Wait at least 60 seconds before servicing.
  2. Remove glove box from vehicle. Remove two bolts from bottom of passenger inflator module, now accessible through top of glove box opening.
  3. Press and hold lock lever. Disconnect SDU connectors. Remove SDU mounting bolts and SDU. To install, reverse removal procedure. After servicing, perform SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK.
  4. Unplug electrical connector and remove passenger air bag module. See Fig 1 .
