Intake Manifold: Installation

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 1997 Dodge Avenger, 1997 Chrysler Sebring, 1996 Dodge Avenger, 1996 Chrysler Sebring, and 1995 Dodge Avenger. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

To install, reverse removal procedure. Install NEW intake manifold and intake manifold plenum chamber gaskets. Install NEW EGR valve and EGR pipe gasket. Install NEW throttle body gasket. Install NEW fuel injector "O" rings. Lubricate with oil and install NEW fuel supply line "O" ring. Ensure intake manifold gasket and intake manifold plenum gasket is installed with protrusion positioned out. See Fig 3 and Fig 4. Check accelerator cable adjustment. See ACCELERATOR CABLE under ADJUSTMENTS.
Tighten left engine side intake manifold nuts first to 62 INCH Lbs. (7 N.m). Tighten right engine side intake manifold nuts to 15-17 Ft. Lbs. (20-23 N.m). Tighten left engine side intake manifold nuts to 15-17 Ft. Lbs. (20-23 N.m). Tighten right engine side intake manifold nuts to 15-17 Ft. Lbs. (20-23 N.m) again. Tighten left engine side intake manifold nuts to 15-17 Ft. Lbs. (20-23 N.m) again.
Tighten all bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
