Inspection Procedure 4 - Mil Remains Illuminated At All Times
NOTE:

NOTE:
Possible causes are: shorted MIL wiring circuit between MIL and ECM or defective ECM.
- Using scan tool, check for stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). If stored DTCs exist, perform appropriate test procedures for each DTC, and clear DTCs from ECM. If no DTCs exist, go to next step.
- Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect connector C-04 at rear of instrument cluster. See Figure .
- Disconnect 16-pin ECM connector B-54 from ECM. The ECM is located below instrument panel, just in front of center console.
- Using ohmmeter, check for continuity between ground and terminal No. 36 (Green/Red wire) on 16-pin ECM connector B-54. Continuity should not exist.
- If no continuity exists, replace ECM. If continuity exists, check for short to ground on wiring harness between 16-pin ECM connector B-54 and C-04 connector on rear of instrument cluster. Repair wiring harness as necessary.
