DTC Test No. 29 - Turbocharger WASTEGATE Actuator

NOTE: Possible causes for DTC are: defective turbocharger wastegate actuator, defective charge pressure control system or defective ECM.

The Engine Control Module (ECM) monitors intake air volume to ensure engine is not receiving excessive pressure from the turbocharger. If excessive pressure exists, the ECM will shut off the fuel. When excessive pressure exists with fuel being shutoff, DTC is stored in the ECM. Check turbocharger and components. See procedures in the SYSTEM/COMPONENT TESTS - 2.0L & 2.4L article.
