Power Rack & Pinion: Inspection

Check rack and pinion tooth surfaces for damage and wear. Check rack oil seal surfaces for uneven wear. Check rack for straightness. Check for worn or defective sealing rings in pinion valve. Check bearings for roughness, noise, play and roller slip off. Check rack housing inner cylinder surface for damage. Check rack bushing and rack support for wear or damage. Check tie rod end boots for cracks or tears.
