Intake Manifold: Removal
- Release fuel pressure. See FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect negative battery cable. Drain cooling system. Disconnect air intake hose at throttle body.
- Disconnect control cables, coolant hoses, vacuum hoses and electrical connections at throttle body. Disconnect PCV hose. Disconnect hoses at intake manifold. Disconnect spark plug wires.
- Remove throttle body support brace. Using a shop towel, wrap fuel line connectors and disconnect fuel lines at fuel rail. Disconnect wiring connector at fuel injector. Disconnect hoses at pressure regulator.
- Remove fuel rail bolts. Remove fuel rail, injectors and insulators from intake manifold by lifting assembly upward so injectors come straight out of intake ports.
- Remove support brace from intake manifold. See Figure. Disconnect wiring at ignition coil and power transistor. Remove intake manifold-to-cylinder head bolts/nuts. Remove intake manifold with throttle body attached. If necessary, separate throttle body and remaining components from intake manifold.
