Brake Pedal Pressed

  1. Start engine. Press brake pedal with approximately 110-lb. (50 kg) force. If clearance between brake pedal pad (foot contact) and floor is 3.1" (80 mm), pedal height is acceptable.
  2. If clearance is less than 3.1" (80 mm), bleed brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM. If pedal height is still less than 3.1" (80 mm) after bleeding brake system, check for brake system fluid leak.
