Reassembly & Installation

  1. Lubricate all components with engine oil. Assemble all components into housing in original locations.
  2. Install front cover with new gasket. Install front cover bolts in appropriate locations. See Fig 1. Tighten to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Coat outer surface of Seal Guide (MD998305). Install seal guide over end of crankshaft.
  3. Slide seal into front cover. Using Seal Installer (MD998304), install front seal in front cover. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
