Engine Lubrication System: Notes

Oil pump is driven by timing belt and provides lubrication to main gallery. See Figure . Turbo models use a oil cooler with oil jets. Oil jets are mounted in oil gallery of cylinder block and spray oil on bottom of piston for piston cooling. Turbo models also use oil cooler by-pass valve.
