Oil Pressure Gauge Inoperative Test
- Ensure ignition switch is in RUN position and engine is off. Disconnect oil pressure sender connector. If gauge needle moves to zero pressure mark, go to next step. If gauge needle does not move, use ohmmeter to check continuity of circuit between instrument cluster and oil sender. If circuit is okay, replace oil pressure gauge.
- Momentarily ground oil pressure sender connector terminal (Gray/Yellow wire). If gauge needle moves to the maximum pressure mark, replace oil pressure sender.
- If needle does not move to maximum pressure mark, use ohmmeter to check continuity of circuit between oil pressure sender and instrument cluster. If circuit is okay, replace oil pressure gauge.
