Parking Brake Switch Test

  1. Ensure ignition switch is in RUN position and engine is off. If BRAKE warning indicator does not light with parking brake engaged, check indicator bulb. If bulb is good, jumper wire parking brake switch connector terminal (Gray/Black wire) to ground.
  2. If indicator light comes on, replace parking brake switch. If indicator light stays off, repair open in wiring circuit between parking brake switch connector and instrument cluster connector.
