Removal & Installation: Speedometer: Removal

1. Remove instrument cluster assembly. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  . Remove control switch panel. See CONTROL SWITCH PANEL  .
2. Remove clear lens screws and remove lens. Remove lower screws retaining Black mask to cluster housing and remove mask. See Fig 1 . At rear of cluster, remove all screws and nuts retaining Dial and Gauge Assembly. See Fig 2 . Remove Dial and Gauge Assembly from front of cluster.

3. To remove speedometer, grasp speedometer pointer hub and slowly rotate pointer assembly clockwise while gently pulling pointer hub upward away from dial surface. Continue to rotate pointer assembly clockwise until resistance is felt, then rotate pointer back counterclockwise a little bit, and then rotate pointer clockwise again until pointer contacts trip reset shaft.
4. Repeat this rotating procedure about 5-15 times until pointer assembly pulls off shaft. On rear of assembly, remove speedometer retaining screws. Separate speedometer from faceplate assembly. See Fig 4 .
