Ignition Switch In Run Position (Engine Running)

  1. Inspect fuses No. 8 and 19 (without passive restraint) and fuse No. 2 (with passive restraint). Replace fuse(s) if necessary.
  2. Check for battery voltage at terminals No. 1 and 5 of VMM connector "A". If battery voltage is not present, repair open circuit between fuse block and terminals No. 1 and 5. If battery voltage is present, circuit is okay. Go to step 3). See Figure .
  3. Turn ignition off. Check for continuity to ground at terminals No. 15 and 18 of VMM connector "A". See Figure . If continuity is present and VMM does not display, replace VMM. If there is incorrect information displayed, perform the VMM SELF-DIAGNOSTICS TEST  . If continuity is not present, repair open circuit between terminals No. 15 and 18 and ground.
  4. Check for an open circuit between terminals No. 6, 7, 8 and 9 of VMM connector "A" and ground with all vehicle doors closed. See Figure . If an open circuit is present, circuit is okay. If an open circuit is not present, check circuits for a short to ground.
