Valve Guides
- Check valve stem oil clearance. Ensure valve stem diameter is within specification. Valve guide can be replaced with oversize valve guide if clearance exceeds specification. See ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS tables at end of article.
- Valve guides are available in oversize of .002" (.05 mm), .010" (.25 mm) and .020" (.51 mm). Replacement procedure is not available from manufacturer. Cylinder head must be reworked to proper dimension for oversize valve guide installation. See VALVE GUIDE REWORK DIMENSIONS table in this article.
