Fitting Pistons

  1. To determine if piston-to-cylinder clearance is within specification, piston skirt diameter should be measured .0787" (1.998 mm) from the bottom of piston skirt at 90-degree angle to piston pin. Piston diameter must be within specification. See ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS tables at end of article.
  2. Cylinder bore measurement should be taken at .47" (11.9 mm) below top surface of cylinder bore, middle of bore and .47" (11.9 mm) from bottom of cylinder bore.
