All Others: Removal

  1. Remove steering knuckle and hub assembly. See STEERING KNUCKLE R & I. Install hub remover/installer in hub and steering knuckle. Use Hub Remover/Installer (MB990998). See Figure.
  2. Install Knuckle Bridge (MB991056) on steering knuckle. Separate hub from steering knuckle. Remove brake disc from hub. Using bearing puller, remove bearing inner race from hub.
  3. Remove seal from steering knuckle. Using drift and hammer, remove bearing races from steering knuckle. If either race needs replacing, replace both races as a set.
NOTE: Verify identification marks on bearings. Bearings must be identified by the words JAPAN, KOYO or HI CAP. DO NOT use bearings without these identification marks.
