Removal & Installation (Colt Wagon)
- Remove air cleaner and intake hoses as an assembly. Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove cotter pins and castle nuts from tie rods. Remove tie rods from steering knuckle with Puller (MB991113). Drain power steering fluid. Disconnect hydraulic lines from steering gear. Remove dust shield clamp and coupling bolt from pinion shaft joint.
- Remove link bolt and disconnect steering stabilizer bar from lower control arm. Remove lower control arm mounting bolts on both sides. Remove rear roll stopper-to-crossmember bolt. Push roll stopper forward on crossmember. Remove steering gear mounting clamp bolts and clamps. Remove steering gear through left fenderwell.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Fill and bleed system. Check wheel play and alignment.
