Removal & Installation (Colt Vista)

  1. Raise and support front of vehicle. Remove dust shield bolts. Remove coupling bolt from pinion shaft joint. Disconnect hydraulic lines from steering gear. Drain fluid.
  2. Remove tie rod end cotter pins and castle nuts. Using Puller (MB-991113), disconnect tie rod ends from steering knuckles.
  3. On 2WD models, remove crossmember support bracket, located on right end of crossmember. On 2WD models equipped with manual transmission, remove rear roll stopper stay. See Fig 1 . On all models, remove steering gear toward right side of vehicle.

  4. To install, reverse removal procedure. Fill and bleed system. Check wheel play and alignment.
