Installation (Colt Vista 4WD)

To install, reverse removal procedure. Using handle and adapter installer, install dust seal in center bearing bracket to proper location and apply grease to specified areas of dust seal and center bearing. See Fig 1 .
Install "O" ring on oil seal retainer. Install center bearing bracket on the engine. Lubricate splined area of axle shaft and Cardan joint prior to installation.
NOTE: Center bearing bracket must be installed on engine prior to axle shaft installation. Axle shaft cannot be installed if center bearing bracket is installed on shaft.
Install axle shaft and center bearing. Ensure bearing is bottomed in center bearing housing. When installing axle shaft nut, washer must be installed with raised side toward the axle shaft nut

CAUTION: DO NOT place vehicle weight on hub assembly with axle shaft removed.
