Removal (Colt, Colt 200 & Summit)

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove rear hub (dust) cap, cotter pin and nut. Remove washer and outer wheel bearing. Remove rear hub and brake drum assembly. Remove shoe retainer spring, shoe-to-shoe spring and shoe hold-down spring. See Figure.
  2. Disconnect parking brake cable from lever. Remove brake shoes with adjuster spring as an assembly and separate. Remove parking brake lever snap ring, and disengage lever from brake shoe.
