Removal & Installation: Speedometer: Removal

Remove cluster assembly. Remove control switch panel. Remove lens screws and lens. Remove screws retaining Black mask and remove mask.
Remove all screws and nuts retaining gauge and dial assemblies. Remove gauge and dial assemblies from cluster. See Fig 1 , Fig 2 , Fig 3 and Fig 4 .

When removing speedometer assembly, grasp the pointer hub and slowly rotate pointer assembly clockwise and counterclockwise until pointer contacts trip reset shaft, while gently pulling upward on hub away from dial surface. Repeat this procedure approximately 5 to 15 times until pointer assembly lifts off the movement shaft. Remove screws and separate speedometer from faceplate.
