Description & Operation: Speedometer

The speedometer is operated electronically. The vehicle speed sensor generates an AC voltage signal, whose frequency is proportional to vehicle speed. This signal is buffered by the speed module and is sent to the speedometer circuit board in the instrument cluster. The solid state circuit drives the pointer of the speedometer.
