Hub and Bearing Carrier Installation

HUB AND BEARING CARRIER INSTALLATION - EAGLE MODELS

1. Thoroughly clean axle shaft (20) (Fig. 2) and apply a thin coating of lithium grease. Install axle shaft-to-bearing spacer (18) (Fig. 2).


2. Install rotor shield (16) to the bearing carrier (10) and hub (6), (Fig. 2). Coat O-ring (11) with grease and install it to the carrier assembly


3. Apply Locktite, 812 9800, and install the three carrier bolts (17) (Fig. 2) tighten bolts to 102 N-m (75 ft.lbs.).

4. Install caliper anchor plate to the steering knuckle. Tighten bolts to 136 N-m (100 ft.- lbs.) torque.


5. Connect steering arm to steering knuckle. Tighten bolts to 136 N-m (100 ft.-lbs.) torque.


6. Install disc brake rotor and caliper.

7. Install washer (4), axle nut (3) and tighten to 237 N-m (175 ft.lbs.) torque (Fig. 2).


8. Install nut retainer (2) and cotter pin (1), (Fig. 2).


NOTE: Do not loosen the nut to fit the retainer. Tighten the nut to the next available slot.

9. Install wheel and tire assembly


10. Lower vehicle.

1. Thoroughly clean axle shaft (20) (Fig. 2) and apply a thin coating of lithium grease.

4. Install disc brake rotor and caliper.


5. Install washer (4), axle nut (3) and tighten to 237 N-m (175 ft.lbs.) torque (Fig. 2).


6. Install nut retainer (2) and cotter pin (1), (Fig. 2).

7. Install wheel and tire assembly.


8. Lower vehicle.
