Choke Thermostat/Heater: Adjustments

Fig. 5 Choke coil lever adjustment:

1. Remove rivets, then remove choke cover and coil.
2. Place fast idle adjusting screw on high step of fast idle cam.
3. Push on intermediate choke rod to place choke valve in the closed position.
4. Place specified plug gauge in hole adjacent to coil lever, Fig. 5. The coil lever should just be in contact with the plug gauge.
5. If necessary, adjust clearance by bending intermediate choke rod with tool No. J-9789-111.
