Engine Mount: Service and Repair

NOTE: Remove fan shroud to radiator attaching screws to prevent damage to shroud.



1982 - 83 EAGLE

Left Side
1. Disconnect heated air tube from air cleaner and exhaust manifold.
2. Remove bolts attaching engine cushion bracket to axle housing.
3. Remove engine mount through bolt, then support engine using a suitable jack.
4. Remove engine cushion support bracket, then remove engine mount attaching bolts and engine mount.
5. Reverse procedure to install. Torque engine mount to engine bolts to 33 ft. lbs., cushion support bracket to engine bolts to 40 ft. lbs. and engine mount through bolt to 45 ft. lbs.

Right Side
1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then loosen lefthand side engine mount through bolt.
2. Loosen bolts attaching engine cushion bracket to axle housing.
3. Remove right side engine mount through bolt, then remove engine cushion to bracket attaching bolts.
4. Disconnect axle tube at righthand side, then disconnect axle at pinion support.
5. Position a suitable jack under engine and raise engine slightly, then remove engine mount.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Torque engine mount to engine bolts to 33 ft. lbs., cushion bracket bolts to 40 ft. lbs. and engine mount through bolts to 45 ft. lbs.
