Theory Of Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2024 RAM ProMaster EV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

During an Electric Parking Brake (EPB) application or release, the Brake System Control Module (BSCM) software monitors the EPB Actuator current and run time. This DTC will set if the EPB Actuator current is higher than 7.5 amps during idle, or if the current is higher than 5 amps during Park Brake application. This DTC will also set if the Park Brake application takes longer than 25 seconds, or if the Park Brake release takes longer than 4 seconds.
