Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- With the scan tool, read Body Control Module (BCM) DTCs and record on the repair order.
- Record the Environmental Data.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Using the recorded Environmental Data, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To Next Step.
No
- Perform the TESTING FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITIONS procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK THE DRIVER WINDOW MOTOR FOR AN OBSTRUCTION
- Inspect the Driver Window Channels for any foreign objects or damage that may create an obstruction.
- If possible, activate the Driver Window Motor UP and DOWN while inspecting for obstructed or slow Window movement.
- Remove the Driver Door Panel and inspect the Driver Window Motor Regulator for any foreign objects or damage that may create an obstruction.
Were any foreign objects or obstructions found?
Yes
- Remove any foreign objects or repair any damage, as needed.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To Next Step.
- CHECK THE (Q11) DRIVER WINDOW DRIVER (UP) CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN/HIGH RESISTANCE
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Window Motor harness connector.
- Disconnect the BCM harness connector.
- Measure the resistance of the Driver Window Driver (Up) circuit between the Window Motor harness connector and the BCM harness connector.
Is the resistance below 3.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Go To Next Step.
No
- Repair the Driver Window Driver (Up) circuit for an open or high resistance.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK THE (Q21) DRIVER WINDOW DRIVER (DOWN) CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN/HIGH RESISTANCE
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Window Motor harness connector.
- Disconnect the BCM harness connector.
- Measure the resistance of the Driver Window Driver (Down) circuit between the Window Motor harness connector and the BCM harness connector.
Is the resistance below 3.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Go To Next Step
No
- Repair the Driver Window Driver (Down) circuit for an open or high resistance.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK THE WINDOW MOTOR CONNECTOR AND TERMINALS
- Turn the ignition off.
- Check the Window Motor harness connector for proper connection at the Window Motor.
- Verify that the connector is completely plugged in and properly locked prior to disconnecting.
- Disconnect the Window Motor harness connector and check for any pushed out, damaged or spread terminals.
Were any issues found with the connector or terminals?
Yes
- Repair the damaged terminal or properly connect and lock the Window Motor harness connector and retest for DTCs.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the Driver Window Motor in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to REGULATOR, WINDOW, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
