Theory Of Operation - Run Relay

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2024 RAM ProMaster EV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The Body Control Module (BCM) receives the network communication message from the Radio Frequency (RF Hub) Module indicating run operation is requested. The BCM provides the low side control to the INT ENGINE RELAY (Run Relay) CONTROL circuit to the coil side of the INT ENGINE RELAY internal to the BCM. Fused B(+) is supplied through the Power Distribution Center (PDC) to the relay. A ground path for the INT ENGINE RELAY is provided through the BCM.
