Theory Of Operation - Dome Lights

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2024 RAM ProMaster EV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Courtesy Lighting:

The primary feed for switched/convenience lighting is supplied by a 7.5A PWM HSD located in the BCM. When any requirement specifying the activation of the courtesy lighting is satisfied, the courtesy lighting is then powered. The Body Control Module (BCM) provides a battery voltage output through the Courtesy Lamp Feed circuit to the Dome Lamps.

Switched Lighting:

The Body Control Module (BCM) provides a battery voltage output through the Courtesy Lamp Feed circuit to the Dome Lamps. When a Front Dome Lamp is switched on/activated, the Dome Lamp Control Circuit provides a return path to the BCM, allowing the Front lamps to illuminate. When the Rear Cargo Lamps is switched on/activated, the Cargo Lamp Switch Signal 2 circuit provides a return path to the BCM, allowing the Rear Cargo Lamps to illuminate.
