Theory Of Operation
The windshield wiper de-icer consists of a series of grid lines fired to the inside surface of the lower edge of the windshield where the front wiper blades rest when the wiper system is turned OFF. The windshield wiper de-icer receives fused B(+) from an external relay and is controlled by the BCM using a HSD. The windshield wiper de-icer will be activated automatically in the case of a cold weather manual start with full front defrost, the blower speed level is greater than five, and when the ambient temperature is below 4°C (40°F). When remote start is active and the outside ambient temperature is less than 4°C (40°F), the wiper de-icer will be enabled. On exiting remote start resume previous operation except, if the de-icer is active, the de-icer timer and operation will continue.
