Reaction Shaft Installation

Clean the reaction shaft with suitable solvent and blow it dry using regulated 344 kPa (50 psi) shop air.
Inspect the reaction shaft for excess damage or ware. Replace the reaction shaft if damage is present.

1 - Seal Rings

2 - Outer Reaction Shaft Hub
Install a NEW seal ring in the land of the outer reaction shaft hub.

2 - Inner Reaction Shaft Hub

Install NEW seal rings in the lands of the inner reaction shaft hub.

1 - Intermediate Support Plate

2 - Reaction Shaft

3 - Oil Pump

Place the reaction shaft into the intermediate support plate.

3 - Intermediate Support Plate Bolts

4 - Intermediate Support Plate

Install the bolts to hold the reaction shaft to the intermediate support plate and tighten to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
Install the bellhousing on the transmission. Refer to BELLHOUSING, INSTALLATION .
Install the transmission in the vehicle. Refer to INSTALLATION .
