Input Shaft Seal Installation
- Clean the seal bore in the center of the bellhousing.
- Apply assembly lube on the lip of the NEW
seal to avoid damage during installation.
1 - Bellhousing 2 - Seal Installer 9677 - Place the seal on tool mentioned below, with the tension spring away from the tool, and drive the seal into the bore until the tool seats against the bellhousing.
(Special tool #9677, Installer, Seal)
- Install the torque converter.
- Install the transmission. Refer to INSTALLATION .
- Fill the transmission to the proper level with the specified fluid. Refer to TRANSMISSION FILL .
- Road test the vehicle to verify the repair.
