Oil Pump Sprocket Needle Bearing Removal

  1. Remove the transmission from the vehicle. Refer to REMOVAL .
  2. Remove the bellhousing from the transmission. Refer to BELLHOUSING, REMOVAL .

    1 - Fluid Tube
    2 - O-Rings
  3. Remove the fluid tube from the bellhousing and discard the fluid tube O-rings.

    1 - Filter
    2 - Filter to Intermediate Support Plate Bolt
  4. Remove the bolt holding the transmission oil filter to the bellhousing.

    3 - Filter Neck
  5. Separate the oil filter from the intermediate support plate.

    1 - Reaction Shaft
    2 - Reaction Shaft Bolts
    3 - Intermediate Support Plate Bolts
    4 - Intermediate Support Plate
  6. Remove the bolts holding the reaction shaft to the intermediate support plate.

  7. Separate the reaction shaft from the intermediate support plate.

    4 - Intermediate Support Plate
  8. Remove the bolts holding the Intermediate Support Plate to the bellhousing.

  9. Separate the intermediate support plate from the bellhousing.
  10. Using a suitable screw driver, remove the input shaft seal from the bellhousing.

    1 - Snap Ring
    2 - Screwdriver
    3 - Oil Pump Sprocket Needle Bearing
  11. Using a screwdriver, remove the snap ring holding the oil pump sprocket needle bearing in the bellhousing.

    1 - Punch
    2 - Oil Pump Sprocket Needle Bearing
    3 - Three Notches
  12. Using a punch tool, remove the oil pump sprocket needle bearing by tapping outward while alternating between the three notches in the bellhousing bore.
