Oil Pump Sprocket Needle Bearing Installation

Clean the oil pump sprocket needle bearing and input shaft seal bore.

1 - Oil Pump Sprocket Needle Bearing

Place the oil pump sprocket needle bearing in position into the bore in the center of the bellhousing.

3 - Bearing Installer 10503

Using the tools mentioned below, install the oil pump sprocket needle bearing in the bellhousing bore until the bearing is seated against the flange.

(Special tool #10503, Installer, Bearing) and (Special tool #C-4171, Driver Handle, Universal)

3 - Oil Pump Sprocket Needle Bearing

Install the snap-ring to hold the oil pump sprocket needle bearing in the bellhousing.
Apply assembly lube on the lip of the NEW seal.

2 - Seal Installer 9677

Place the seal on the tool mentioned below, with the tension spring away from the tool, and insert the seal into the bore in the bellhousing and using a suitable hammer, drive the seal into the bore in the center of the bellhousing until the tool seats against the bellhousing.

Place the intermediate support plate and oil pump in position on the bellhousing while guiding the oil pump sprocket into oil pump sprocket needle bearing.

3 - Oil Pump

Place the reaction shaft in position on the intermediate support plate.

3 - Intermediate Support Plate Bolts

4 - Intermediate Support Plate

Install the bolts to hold the reaction shaft to the intermediate support plate and tighten to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

3 - Filter Neck

Place the transmission oil filter in position and insert feed tube into the oil pump.

2 - Filter to Intermediate Support Plate Bolt
Install the bolt to hold the transmission oil filter to the intermediate support plate and tighten to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

1 - Fluid Tube

2 - O-Rings
Install NEW O-rings on the fluid tube and install the fluid tube in the bellhousing.
Install the bellhousing on the transmission. Refer to BELLHOUSING, INSTALLATION .
Install the transmission in the vehicle. Refer to INSTALLATION .
